Attempted Robbery Suspect Hiding in Dumpster in Court

A grand jury will decide whether the man accused of trying to rob the Burger King, near downtown Jackson, then hiding in a dumpster, should face trial. Wednesday, the attorney for Brandon Phillips,22, of Centerville, asked the judge for both a bond reduction and to send him for drug treatment instead for further criminal proceedings. Both requests were denied, so the judge instead sent Phillips case to the grand jury. Phillips faces a charge of attempted aggravated robbery and remains jailed in lieu of $75,000 bond.
