Child Rape Case Bound Over to Grand Jury, Case Against Woman Charged with Coercion
In the case of Johnathon Henderson, the man charged with raping a 9-year-old girl will be heard by a Madison County grand jury. Thursday, in city court, the 39-year-old waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Henderson was arrested last month after investigators and the Department of Children’s Services determined the girl had been raped. Henderson is charged with two counts of rape of a child. He remains jailed in lieu of $75,000 bond. Henderson’s 39-year-old girlfriend, Jennifer Womble will also have her case advanced. She is charged with trying to coerce the young girl to lie to police and said Henderson did not really rape her. Womble has been ordered to stay away from the child, she is free on a $10,000 bond.
