Corinth Officer Faces Sentence
A Corinth police officer will be sentenced July 14 on charges that he took money from motorists during fake traffic stops.
Jamie L. Brewer pleaded guilty in December to four counts in U. S. District Court in Greenville.
Brewer was indicted on nine counts of deprivations of rights under the color of law following an investigation by the FBI.
The government says Brewer conducted traffic stops in Alcorn County and secretly took cash from nine different motorists. He also was accused of violating their constitutional rights against unreasonable search and seizure.
