Bonnaroo Traffic Snarl Begins

Motorists on Interstate 24 are warned about increased traffic Wednesday and Thursday because of the annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Coffee County.

There will be no construction-related lane closures on I-24 near the festival between 3 p.m. Wednesday through next Monday. Festival traffic will be kept in the right lane or shoulder to help through traffic use the left lane.

State troopers will work around the clock to manage traffic volume on the interstate.

The festival, midway between Nashville and Chattanooga, runs Thursday through Sunday. Gates open at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The longest delays on the interstate for arriving attendees normally are between 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday.
