Former Soldier Accused Of Theft
Federal prosecutors have brought charges against a former soldier accusing him of stealing a large amount of military equipment from the Fort Campbell Army installation in 2007.
Kyle B. Baker, who had a Clarksville, Tenn., address in court records, was charged last week in federal court in Kentucky with theft or embezzlement of U.S. property and conspiracy to defraud the United States.
According to the charges, Baker is accused of stealing equipment from the installation on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. He is accused of taking plate inserts for military body armor, ammunition magazines, radios, thermal gun sights and chemical detection equipment.
No attorney was listed for Baker in court records, and his wife declined to comment when reached Tuesday by The Associated Press.
