FHU Campers Pack Meals for Haiti

Officials at Freed-Hardeman University celebrated another chapter in serving others. The university held their first meeting of the school’s “Go! Camp” this week. Campers packed more than 100,000 meals to be sent to children in Haiti, the event is held in part with the Feed My Starving Children” program. Officials said the camp look to inspire young people to move into action in their communities by combining interactive labs, work sessions and various other projects. “It’s been incredible to see how this happens,” said Brad Montague, director of Go! Camp. It also has been incredible to see it happen, so well and so fun and it’s a huge task, if by myself, it would take me a month or longer with all these people, we’ve done it in a matter of hours.” University leaders have held similar programs in years past, such as Horizons, Mid-South Youth Camp, and Rush, and has also provided resources to churches through their FHU Lectureship Program.
