Holly Bobo Search Continues
With temperatures heating up in West Tennessee, some may be wondering if the search for a missing Decatur County woman, Holly Bobo, is cooling down. It has been nearly two months and there is still no sign of her. Decatur County Sheriff Roy Wyatt, says, “I’ve spent several sleepless nights over this one.” Wyatt says Bobo’s abduction is not any easier to deal with now, than it was almost two months ago when she was first reported missing. Pink ribbons put up in Bobo’s honor may have faded, but the search, Wyatt says, has not. He adds, “We haven’t slacked up any. We’re still following leads that we get everyday.” Not a day goes by, Wyatt says, where a tip does not come in. On Tuesday, in a span of just one hour, three tips came in. But tips are like keys, and officers are still looking for the one that unlocks the case. Shelley Maness, Bobo’s Hairdresser, adds, “It’s hard to believe that we’re still doing this after eight weeks.” Eight weeks later and Wyatt says he has no reason to believe at this point that Bobo is in any other state or that she has left the area. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation does not believe there is a connection between Bobo’s case and any other abductions in nearby states. Maness adds, “It’s very depressing. It’s very emotional with everybody trying to go to work and keep going.” She says what keeps her going is knowing that the search is still on, even though in the beginning, more than 30 different agencies were looking for her. Now the search is scaled back to five different agencies. Maness adds, “We’ve just got to keep praying that no news is good news.” Wyatt says they do not need volunteers right now, but if you have any information at all, you are asked to call the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department.
