Suspects Arrested in Henry County Burglary

A pair of self-proclaimed eyewitnesses to a home break-in in Henry County are now the suspects in the crime. Investigators have charged Melanie Page, 24 and a 17-year-old, who we are not naming because of his age, with aggravated burglary. Deputies said the two were outside the house when the homeowner came rushing in after learning the alarm had been tripped. “The caretaker of the home was close by and arrived within a minute or so, located a male and female outside the residence on the property, told him they’d seen two men outside the house with guns and ran into the woods,” said Investigator Gary Vandiver of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators said it did not take them long to determine the two were not telling the truth. Officers said Page ultimately confessed to the crime. A court date had not been set for Page. She remains jailed in Henry County in lieu of $10,000 bond.
