It was a day to celebrate for Haywood Parks and Recreation, Friday. The department received a $25,000 grand that will be used to feed summer campers for the next several months. Haywood Parks and Recreation estimate it will feed 2,000 children per day throughout the summer. “I am very excited. Because of this grant, we will be able to serve about 25,000 more meals this summer than we would have been able to serve without it,” said Nancy Cates, director of Brownsville Parks & Recreation Department. Organizers told ABC 7 Eyewitness News was made possible through funds from Walmart.
