If you live in Madison County and have debris from our recent storms piling up, there is good news. County workers will start curb side pick up next Thursday, June 16. Items must be sorted in a specific way before crew with the Madison County Highway Department will conduct pick up. Debris and waste must be sorted into six categories: 1. Electronics (television, computer, stereos, phone, DVD player) 2. Large appliances (refrigerator, washer/dryer, air conditioner, stove, water heater, dishwasher) 3. Hazardous waste (oil, battery pesticide, paint, cleaning supplies, compressed gas) 4. Vegetative debris (tree branches, leaves, logs, plants) 5. Construction debris (building materials, dry wall, lumber, carpet, furniture, plumbing) 6. Household garbage (bagged garbage, discarded food, paper, packaging). Items must also be placed at the edge of your property or within 10 feet of the roadway. Crews will collect storm related debris only in the affected areas through July 7.
