Nova Elementary Gets Award for Health
A Jackson-Madison County Elementary School is recognized for helping students get healthier. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation has recognized Nova Elementary School for combating childhood obesity. The Alliance said one in three children in the U.S. are already overweight or obese. Medical experts said that if obesity among children continues, they will live shorter lives than their parents. Nova is one of 275 schools nationwide, recognized for making their campuses healthier. The Alliance was founded by the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation.
