A new way to find jobs for unemployed Tennesseans is underway in Decatur County. The new Digital Factory is open in Parsons. Unlike traditional job training sites, the Digital Factory focuses on the online job market and jobs that are preformed over the internet. The inaugural class for the Parsons campus includes 10 candidates, who organizers hope to have trained and matched with a job within the next month. “We are very excited,” said Lisa Hankins of REDI. “We have been working on this concept for about a year and the center has been under a major transformation in the last month, and it has gone from an empty airport hanger to this beautiful facility that you see inside.” The Digital Factory is sponsored by REDI, the Regional Economic Development initiative and is funded through grant money.
