Tipton Co. Deputies Make Arrests in Five County Crime Spree

The Tipton County Sheriff’s Department believe it has solved a five-county crime spree after arresting just two men. Deputies have linked Steven Allen Hall Jr., 25, and George Edward Whittemore, 34, both of Somerville, to burglaries and thefts in Covington, Munford and Mason. The two are believed to have stolen things like a $4,800 18-foot Diamond Charger flatbed trailer and a 1999 Polaris ATV valued at $1,000. Whittemore and Hall each face four counts of burglary and theft of property over $1,000 to 10,000. Currently Whittemore is being held in the Hardeman County Correctional Facility and Hall, Jr. is being held in the Fayette County Correctional Jail. The duo has pending charges or holds for additional charges in Fayette County, Tipton County, Hardeman County, Haywood County and Germantown Police Department.
