Second Man Charged with Jewelry Heist

A second suspect in the February robbery of Little’s Jewelers in north Jackson has been indicted and is now behind bars in Madison County. James Randle, 28, was indicted last week and arrested in his hometown of Memphis and arrived in Jackson, He and Lee Triplett, 29, of Jackson were each indicted on charges of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of especially aggravated robbery and two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping. Triplett faces an additional count of filing a false report. On February 16, police said Randle stormed into the jewelry store, pistol whipped a worker and locked three employees, one of whom was Triplett in a bathroom. He is believe to have stolen money and a substantial amount of jewelry. Detectives said the two have known each other since college. “We’re pretty certain that Triplett was the inside man and Randle was the outside man and we are confident that Randle would not have been able to accomplish this robbery without the assistance of Triplett,” said Lieutenant Tyreece Miller of the Jackson Police Department. Triplett appeared in court on the charges, Monday morning. Randle’s initial court date has yet to be set.
