LANA Celebrates Flag Day

In honor of Flag Day, the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association took over Conger Park with a display of patriotism. Festivities for LANA’S Flag Day Celebration kicked off around 6, Tuesday night as dozens of community members brought out lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the food and the live music. The Jackson Police Department’s Honor Color Guard was also on hand for a presentation of the colors. ABC 7 Eyewitness News spoke with organizers on the importance of Tuesday’s event. “We still felt its important to come together and appreciate the flag, the national and appreciate our freedom,” said Cathi Roberts, president of LANA. Roberts adds, Tuesday night’s event is the 8th annual Flag Day celebration held by the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association.
