Father’s Day
Fathers across the country received the red carpet treatment Sunday for Father’s Day. “He taught me how to treat people and how important family is,” said Sammy Johnson. Johnson said he took his father to Old County Buffet to show his appreciation. “Girls need their fathers in their lives to bring them self esteem,” said Creeionna Williams. Some older children admit there were times when their fathers showed them tough love. “Mom whip me more. He talk to me a lot. He had a lot of patients with me and my brothers,” said Johnson. According to officials at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, Brixson Blake Campbell was the first baby born on Father’s Day. “I actually kind of thought he was going to be born on Father’s Day. Me and him had an argument about it. He thought he would be born on the 18th, but I figured he was coming on the 19th,” said Autumn Campbell, mother of Brixson. Brixson’s father, Dustin Campbell, said he waits for the day when he can make new memories with the newest member of his family. “Excited, waiting on the ball (games) to start. I know it’ll be a while,” said Campbell.
