Knoxville Raked By Storms

Authorities say severe storms have knocked down trees and power lines and left some 113,000 Knoxville-area customers without electricity.

Knox County emergency dispatchers say they have numerous reports of trees into houses but no immediate reports of injuries.

North Knoxville was especially hit. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that several roads including North Broadway are blocked by trees.

The Knoxville Utilities Board reported some 113,000 customers without power as of 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The weather service is tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds over 60 mph.
