Brandy Goforth must put the Xbox 360 back on the shelf, at the Pot O’ Gold Pawn Shop in Paris. She thought she had it sold to a man, his girlfriend and her adult son. That was until the women stormed out of the store, leaving her boyfriend visibly upset. “He was very irritated. He was pacing the store, texting her. He asked to use our phone and called her, even left a few voice mails,” recalled Goforth. He did not know where she was, although police did. Earlier Thursday morning, the district attorney had actually spoken to the woman about an unrelated case. With her cell phone number handy, authorities were able to call her directly and separate her from the suspect. “We called her and asked her to come up to the courthouse to sign some paperwork. When she showed up that’s when we started questioning her,” said Sergeant Josh Frye of the Paris Police Department. Little did Goforth know, as she was patiently waiting to finish her sale with Nichole Turner, 30, she was dealing with the man suspected of robbing the Commercial Bank and Trust on Wednesday. “I was pretty much conversing [with him] while he was waiting. I noticed he and the son disappeared, about the same time I noticed half a dozen police cars,” added Goforth. Police said Turner’s girlfriend admitted that her boyfriend was responsible for the bank robbery and told them exactly where he was. That allowed officers to swarm the pawn shop’s parking lot and arrest Turner. Turner has been charged with a state count of aggravated robbery and is being held at the Henry County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. Investigators said this case will be taken over by a federal grand jury.
