Wright, Martin, Second Two Supt. Candidates Interviewed
For a second straight night Tuesday, superintendent candidates were interviewed by the Jackson-Madison County School Board. First to be interviewed was Beth Wright, current superintendent of the Florence County School District Three in South Carolina. She is no stranger to the board. She actually interviewed for the superintendent’s position when Doctor Nancy Zambito was chosen. Wright is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and said she is very interested in moving to this area to be closer to her family. Also interviewed Tuesday night was Terrence Martin, current associate superintendent of the Des Moines, Iowa Public School System. He told the board that he wants to come to Jackson so he can be in a position to make a difference in children’s lives and help them on a large scale. Martin is the 4th of six candidates interviewing for the job. The final two candidates, Doctor Damon Cathy and Doctor Craig Fiegel will be interviewed Wednesday afternoon beginning at 5:30 at the district office on North Parkway. The interviews are open to the public.
