Ripley Man Shot in Home Invasion
Roy Robeson said he fought many fights in his days, but Monday night’s battle was one he just could not win. While sitting in his favorite living room chair, Robeson said a robber shot the lock off his back door and stormed in. “I was sitting here watching television and heard a gunshot and the door kicked open and two seconds later I heard gunshots again,” added Robeson. The second gun shot was aimed at his head, but only grazing his right eyebrow. “He said give me your money, give me your money, and I told him I don’t have any money,” explained Robeson. Robeson said two months ago, he filed a police report when he accidentally left his front door unlocked allowing a burglar to enter his home. According to Robeson’s children, the person responsible for stealing almost $500 that night was never found. Robeson said in Monday’s incident, he was thrown to the ground by a masked man and was frisked for money. “He was going through all of my pockets, turning them the wrong side out and decided I didn’t have no money in my pockets so he quit.” Robeson said the robber left him helpless on the floor and took off with his wallet, this time with only $50 extra dollars in his pocket.
