Speed Camera Tickets Decrease

Like them or hate them, speed cameras in the Hub City are forcing drivers to slow down. ABC 7 Eyewitness News checked with the Jackson Police Department, Thursday to see how many red light camera and mobile speed unit tickets were issued for the first six months of the year. The total was just more than 4,600. But, in almost the same time period last year, almost 11, 600 citations were issued, which is a drop of more than 60 percent. Each of the tickets cost drivers $50, however they do not affect your driving record.
