Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Cookout

Crockett County deputies have officially charged a Bells man in a violent attack that almost took the life of his victim. John Allen, 34, was arraigned in charges f attempted first degree murder in connection with the brutal stabbing last weekend. Witnesses said the man got into a fight concerning their history in prison together. However, when the fight ended, Allen went to his truck, grabbed a box cutter and attacked the man. Family members of the victim told ABC 7 Eyewitness News he has been released from the hospital, but received extensive damage to one of his eyes as well as his right hand, which they fear he will never be able to fully use again.
