Jackson-Madison County Metro Narcotics officers say they have arrested their second suspect in a meth-fueled fire inside a Jackson motel room on Sunday. Eugene Harper, 37, of Jackson, was arrested Thursday on a charge of initiation of methamphetamine manufacture. He is currently being held at the Madison County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond. Investigators say Harper and Christopher Fondren, 35, of Jackson, were inside a room at the Old Hickory Inn, located on the Hwy 45 Bypass, Sunday afternoon, and while making meth sparked a fire. Fondren was arrested Sunday after being briefly hospitalized for injuries suffered during the fire. He faces charges of initiation of methamphetamine manufacture, possession of drug paraphernalia and vandalism. He remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bond.
