Band Truck in Scotts Hill Vandalized

A local high school marching band came to practice on Wednesday only to find their property had been vandalized the night before. The Scotts Hill High School band truck had its tires slashed, profanity written all over it and headlights busted among other things. The band director says they had just purchased the truck with money from fundraisers and sponsors. It had only been used once. Surveillance video around the school doesn’t point towards the truck so they didn’t catch who did it. The front of the school also had some letter stolen off the building. However, students and teachers say this isn’t going to keep them from striving to be the best. “The thing that I told the kids yesterday, I sat down with them and I said, you know, people are mean and stuff happens. So, what I want you to do with this is take this and let this be fuel for your fire, let this encourage you to be a better band and be better than everybody else and show them that we are the best,” said Band Director Marlana Nyholt. Local officers are still investigating who is responsible for the vandalism. If you have any information as to who may have been involved contact the Scotts Hill Police Department.
