Police Arrest Man in Weekend Stabbing

Jackson police said they have arrested the man responsible for a weekend stabbing in east Jackson. Stephen Eddings, 50, of Jackson faces one county of attempted murder in connection with the Sunday morning attack. Investigators said Eddings flagged down a car around 4:30 Sunday morning along Fairmont Avenue, began talking to the passenger then reached into the car and stabbed the 24-year-old several times in the upper body. The driver was able to take him to the hospital, where at last check he was reported in stable condition. Investigators said Eddings did not know the men in the car. He remains jailed in lieu of $75,000 dollars.
