East Chester House Fire

Jackson firefighters found themselves battling the heat, as well as the flames, Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, a fire broke out in the attic of a home in the 1700 block of East Chester Street. Firefighters said the house suffered mostly smoke and water damage. Crews were able to put the fire out in about 10 minutes. No one was injured, but firefighters were forced to work in shifts, due to high heat indices.
