Hardeman Co. Woman Charged in Shooting

Cindy Hodge said it is finally safe for her and her kids to step outside of their home. She said Tuesday night she heard some very unusual noises next door. “We just heard some commotion, some hollering, then some shooting, sounded like gunshots,” added Hodge. Next door to Hodge is a single driveway. If you traveled down the curvy road you find two homes. Hodge said her friend Ann Jackson lives in one. The other right next door belongs to her ex-boyfriend. “You go right up to his door and you can throw a ball to her house,” added Hodge. The noises, Tuesday night, forced Hodge to call for help. Deputies said they found a woman shot multiple times when they arrived. They said it happened after Jackson, while driving to her house, noticed her ex-boyfriend had company. “Ex-girlfriend of the homeowner of the residence encountered a female visitor of the owner of the residence and became angry,” said Chief Deputy Billy Davis of the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department. So angry, deputies add, Jackson shot her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend while she was sitting on the couch. As the woman got up and ran out the door, deputies said Jackson began pistol whipping the girl outside until her child broke up the fight. “Why bring another one in and you still live that close together, I guess it wasn’t smart,” said Hodge. Deputies said the victim is listed in serious condition at the Med in Memphis. Ann Jackson is charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated burglary and a weapons charge. She is being held without bond at the Hardeman County Jail.
