Henderson Gets Funds for Improvements
The city of Henderson is getting a downtown makeover. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam was in Chester County, Wednesday to give both Henderson and Chester County grants, which total more than $900,000. The grant money will be used for improving sidewalks and lighting downtown and around the courthouse. Governor Haslam said these grants will be used to help attract more people and show off the city and county’s best side. “I think it’s really important that the core of any city or community or county to be strong, and be a place that people are proud of and want to go to and I think that will help them,” said Governor Bill Haslam. The grant money came from the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
