New Details In Millington Raids

Building permits for a transmission shop were among items seized in a raid on Millington city government offices.

The Commercial Appeal reports that Transmission Doctors and the home of Millington Mayor Richard Hodges were also raided on Wednesday.

District attorney general’s office spokesman Vince Higgins said officers were serving warrants following an investigation into complaints of official misconduct that centered on Millington. Higgins said warrants were served throughout Shelby County.

Transmission Doctors owner Marlin Roberts has financial and civic ties with Mayor Hodges.

In his 2011 ethics filing with the state, Hodges lists Roberts as the holder of a loan to the mayor.

Hodges said he thinks the raids were deliberately timed to break him down, coming only a day after the suicide of his wife of 34 years.
