Parkers Crossroads is getting a new visitor’s center. Governor Bill Haslam cut the ribbon for the center’s grand opening ceremony, Wednesday, which marks the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. The city hopes the 70,000 people who drive by on Interstate 40 everyday will see the new center and stop by. “They come to the visitors center and we are able to tell them about what we have in this county and this region of the state,” said Republican State Representative McDaniel of Parkers Crossroads. “It’s an economic driver for us.” This is the second visitors center for Parkers Crossroads. The city said the expanded center will allow even more people to visit.
