Millington Official Receives Subpoena

The public works director for the West Tennessee city of Millington says he’s been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury.

Jack Huffman told The Commercial Appeal he received a summons to appear before a grand jury sometime next month. Huffman declined further comment.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and other enforcement agencies executed search warrants on Wednesday at several locations in Shelby County, including the Millington City Hall.

City Clerk Bruce Rasmussen told the newspaper in an e-mail that he wasn’t aware of any city workers being subpoenaed.

District Attorney spokesman Vince Higgins said the raids followed allegations of official misconduct.
