Church Wall Collapses In Storm
A weekend thunderstorm caused a church wall to collapse in Nicholasville.
The stone veneer on the back wall of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection fell into a garden where the cremated remains of some former parishioners are interred.
The incident on Saturday caused the congregation to meet in another building on the church property for Sunday worship, according to WKYT-TV. Structural engineers later deemed the sanctuary to be safe.
It isn’t clear what caused the collapse, but engineers told church officials it could have been caused by moisture that accumulated behind the stone façade.
There were no injuries.
