Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Martin

A University at Tennessee Martin student told officials she was attacked at her apartment complex along Highway 431. The victim told police she went to her apartment on Sunday, but when she went into her bathroom to change clothes, the alleged suspect sprung out and began to assault her. The woman said she could not find her cell phone to call for help so she walked to her friends place and her friend drove her to the nearby hospital. Police said the hospital called them explaining they were treating the alleged victim for minor cuts all over her body. Police said from the beginning they had many unanswered questions, but that did not stop their quest in finding the truth. “It’s a concern to a lot of people. Safety is a concern for us and the families that send their children to school here, so we’re gonna treat it very very seriously ,” said Chief David Moore of the Martin Police Department. After two lengthy interrogations, police said the woman admitted to giving a false report and actually cutting herself. Police did not want to give her name but said she has been cited to appear in court but a date has not yet been set.
