Child Rape Conviction
A Tipton County man is waiting to find out his fate following his conviction on charges he raped a young child. According to the district attorney’s office, during a two-day trial last week, William Franklin Chumley was convicted on rape charges involving a 9-year-old in June last year. His sentencing hearing is set for Thursday in circuit court. Chumley faces a mandatory minimum sentence of at least 25 years in prison.
