Jackson Man Arrested in Rash of Auto Thefts

An investigation in southwest Madison County has led to the arrests of one man on theft charges and two other men facing unrelated charges. Madison County deputies have officially charged Vernon Givens, 45, of Jackson with five counts of theft. Givens was arrested after investigators spotted him with a Chevy one-ton truck, which was reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Britton Lane. Deputies said they also found five other vehicles taken from that same location. During an investigation, deputies arrested Donald McCorkle, 51, of Jackson for an unrelated outstanding warrant in Gibson County and Marcelious Jermaine Cole, 36, of Jackson on unrelated outstanding warrants in Madison County. The investigation into the case continues.
