New Fire Station Approved

Jackson City council members voted to build a new fire station for a newly annexed area in northwest Jackson. Following the recommendations of city planners, the council voted to build the new station on five acres along Windy City Road. Planners said the location would serve the newly annexed area well and is rather flat, which will help with development costs. City leaders hope to close on the purchase in September.
