Monday, Bradford police arrested a man at his home in the 200-block of Chestnut street on two separate drug charges. Brandon Cantrell, 25, faces charges of manufacturing a controlled substance and manufacturing a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of school property. According to officers, the investigation began three weeks before when Bradford police found two marijuana plants growing behind the home. Since then, officers report collecting video and photographic evidence of Cantrell and another unidentified person handling and caring for the plants. Monday, Bradford police accompanied a case worker from the Department of Children Services to the home as she followed up on a related child welfare complaint. It was during that time that Cantrell was arrested. One plant, about five feet tall, was recovered. Investigators say photographic evidence indicates the second plant was discarded by Cantrell after being damaged during a recent storm. Bradford police are working to identify others who may have been involved in the manufacturing of the marijuana. More arrests are expected. Call the Bradford Police Dept. at (731) 742-3570, if you can help.
