Bethel U Hosts Job Fair in Henderson Co.
More than 100 eager job seekers invaded the Henderson County Fairgrounds, Thursday, as Bethel University hosted a job fair. Thirteen different employment vendors were on hand at the event. It was an opportunity for potential employees to speak with representatives from the various companies, as well as received help from career coaches on writing resumes and information on how to apply for jobs online. Organizers say lowering the staggering jobless rate in Henderson County is all about networking. “Currently our unemployment rate is at 14 percent and we are optimistic that companies are hiring,” said Vicki Burch of the Henderson Co. Chamber of Commerce. “It’s just a matter of making those business-to-business contacts and putting the right people with the right companies.” The job fair was sponsored by Bethel University and the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce.
