Deputies in Dyer County believe speed played a part in a deadly crash that took the life of a Newbern man. Jesus Gonzales, 20, was killed Sunday morning while driving a semi along Lanes Ferry Road in Dyer County. Deputies believe Gonzales was going too fast when he approached a steep curve and lost control, causing him to drive through a ditch and crash into an nearby embankment. Investigators determined Gonzales was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
