A Crockett County grand jury has indicted Molly Jane Roe on charges stemming from the severe beating that took the life of her boyfriend’s 17-month-old daughter. Last month, Roe waiver her right to a preliminary hearing, sending her case to the grand jury. According to the Crockett County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Roe was indicted on first degree murder and rape charges in the fatal June beating of Maleeya Murley. Police believe Roe raped the toddler and threw her onto a table hard enough to kill her. She remains jailed and will return to court, Thursday, where she will be arraigned.
