Brantley Changes Bankruptcy Filing

A new development has arisen in the bankruptcy filing of embattled Jackson businessman Bardo Brantley and his former company Summit Brantley Building Innovations. A new court filing shows Brantley is requesting to change his Chapter 11 “reorganization” filing to Chapter 7, which will liquidate his holdings and means it is very likely that many of his creditors and former employees will not receive the rest of the money they are owed. Any objections to the change must be filed in United States Bankruptcy Court by Monday, August 22. If that happens, the court will hold a hearing on August 31. Brantley currently owns The Brantley Group in Jackson, which provides a similar service as his defunct Summit Brantley Building Innovations.
