Thompson Found Guilty in Salon Robbery

The Jackson man accused in the 2009 hold up of a north Jackson hair salon has been convicted of the crime. Earlier Tuesday, a Madison County jury deliberated 45 minutes before convicting Marcus Thompson of five counts of aggravated robbery. The jury also assessed the maximum fine of $25,000 on each count. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 20. Thompson also faces charges in the 2009 first degree murder of Henderson grandmother, Carolyn Ward.
