The Milan football coach accused of holding a gun to the Milan Middle School principal’s head last Sunday appeared in court, Wednesday morning. Julius “Doc” Roberson’s attorney Tim Crocker says Principal Sonya Cathey has continued to send text messages to his client since the alleged incident, apparently wanting to meet him. “She’s claiming that he placed a pistol at her head and threatened her life and if that were the case then it seems quite unusual that she would be wanting to have contact and communicate with someone that according to her..threatened to kill her.” said Crocker. Crocker says Roberson was trying to end his year and a half long physical relationship with Cathey before the report was filed. Judge Collins Bonds order no contact between the two. Roberson’s preliminary hearing is set for September 15. Both Roberson and Cathey remain on paid suspension.
