Jackson Fire Crews Respond to East Jackson House Fire

A grease fire is being blamed for starting a house fire in east Jackson, Thursday evening, according to fire investigators. Officials said the fire began in the kitchen of the home on Bryant Street a little after 7 and quickly spread to the attic of the home, causing a great deal of smoke damage, but was brought under control in minutes. Fire investigators said the homeowner was already dousing the fire with an outside garden hose, when crews arrived. Luckily, no one was injured and the investigation is ongoing.
