Man Indicted On 107 Child Rape Counts

A Madison County grand jury has handed down 107 child rape counts against one man. On Wednesday, Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested 37-year-old Roy McCarty for allegedly raping a young boy starting when the boy was just eight years old. McCarty is accused of raping the boy, a family friend, repeatedly between December 2008 and July 2010. If convicted, McCarty could spend the rest of his life in prison due to the sheer number of charges. ABC 7 Eyewitness News was outside McCarty’s mobile home Wednesday and saw that he lives next door to several children on Lynn Street. When deputies arrested him, they found even more incriminating evidence. “Once inside, the deputies noticed photographs of the victim, an 11-year-old boy, as well as computers, a cell phone, and other things that were indicative of behavior that a pedophile would engage in,” said Lt. Tyreece Miller, Jackson Police Dept. Jackson police are asking if anyone knows of other possible victims to contact investigators right away. Bond has not been set yet. McCarty remains jailed awaiting his first court appearance.
