Dump Truck Turns Over on Bypass

An area truck driver is lucky to be alive after a big scare, Tuesday afternoon. Investigators said and apparent blow-out caused him to lose control around 3, Tuesday afternoon while driving north on the U.S. Highway 45 Bypass near Ashport Road. The truck flipped, spilling out large rocks it was carrying and some of the diesel fuel from the truck’s tank. It took Hazmat crews about two hours to get the spill contained. Officers said no other cars were involved and the driver was not seriously hurt.
