Man Accused of Exposing Himself and Attempted Coercion

Henderson County deputies have arrested a man for going to extreme measures to get a relative out of trouble. According to investigators, Michael B. Smith, 48 of Huntingdon came to the Seagraves Grocery Store last week offering the owners $500 to drop charges for a robbery his relative was allegedly involved in. The robbery allegedly cost store owners around $1,500 and they refused to accept the bribe. That is when officials said Smith made another visit to the store and exposed himself to a female worker through the drive-through window. “This man has two felonies. Coercion of a witness, which is when he goes up there…and tries to get him not to testify. Retaliation against past action by making a bribe. That’s a felony also.” said Captain Tracy Grisham of the Henderson County Sheriff Department. Smith is also charged with indecent exposure. He remains jailed in lieu of a $7,500 dollar bond.
