Union University’s King James Version Bible Festival is underway, displaying one of the world’s largest collections of rare Bibles. The Green Bible Collection, which is owned by Hobby Lobby President Steve Green, is being shown to the public as part of the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible. The private collection contains not only rare Bibles, but items like manuscripts and a variety of centuries-old Biblical translations. Organizers say this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see such historic items. “All of these items have a story to tell and we want them to be able to tell that story,” said Amy Southerland. “Anytime we are able to go to a location where we can showcase the items and show the story of how the Bible has come to be, it’s the Passion.” The KJV Legacy and Impact Festival continues through Saturday. The Green Bible Collection will have another public viewing Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
