Police: Jackson Man Stabs Ex-Wife’s Boyfriend
Three people are recovering after police said two of them were stabbed by a man trying to kill his ex-wife’s boyfriend. On Saturday, Jackson police arrested Edgar Hernandez, 24, who investigators said went to his ex-wife’s home on Gregg Street early Saturday morning to confront her boyfriend, with the intent to kill him. According to officers, Hernandez began stabbing the man with a knife, injuring his chest, left side, fingers and ear. Fernandez’s ex-wife and her friend reportedly tried to intervene, but the friend was stabbed in the right arm in the process. Hernandez faces several charges, including two separate counts of assault and a charge of attempted first degree murder. Police said he also has a hold placed on him by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Hernandez will be formally arraigned in Jackson city court Monday morning.
