Balloons Release Marks World Alzheimer’s Day
Area leaders with the Alzheimer’s Association were busy, Wednesday showing their support for a cure. Jackson Oaks played host to Wednesday’s event as part of World Alzheimer’s Day. Purple balloons were released in honor of Alzheimer’s patients, worldwide. Dozens attended as Councilman Scott Conger presented a proclamation from the city recognizing the day. “This is a disease that is not going away it is getting progressively worse and we need to have as much awareness as we possibly can so that we can get better research and more money to help those who are effected and to help caregivers,” said Tammy Deniro, of the Alzheimer’s Association. You can show your support for a cure on the morning of October 15, when the Alzheimer’s Association will hold its annual “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” at Pringles Park, beginning at 9.
